SYSTRA presents metro expertise to a delegation from Shenzhen

SYSTRA recently had the opportunity to showcase its extensive knowledge and expertise in metro migrations and technology trends for driverless metro lines to a delegation from Shenzhen, one of China's largest metro networks.

The delegation, from Shenzhen Metro Group Co., Ltd. (SZMC) was led by Mr Long, General Manager of the Construction Division, accompanied by the Beijing Design Institute and CASCO, a joint venture between Alstom and CRSC in China.

SYSTRA in Shenzhen: our projects in China's 'greenest' city

The Group contributed to the creation of the Shenzhen metro network from 1995 on behalf of SZMC, providing technical assistance for the design and execution of lines 1 and 4.

Our areas of expertise in high-speed rail have also had an impact on the interconnection of the city to the rest of the China, with the construction supervision of the Xiamen – Shenzhen,Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed lines led at the start of the 2010s with our SYSTRA Shanghai colleagues.

Presenting SYSTRA's expertise in metro system engineering

During the visit, which included a presentation of the city of Shenzhen and its metro network, we spoke in depth about our experience on metro renovation projects and the importance of managing migration as a project within a project, giving several examples of return on experience from projects such as Santiago, Paris and Brussels. This was of special interest for SZMC as they have not yet fully addressed the issue of how to migrate existing metro lines to CBTC GoA4, the highest level of automatic train operation (ATO) requiring no on-board staff for safe operation.
